Jonathan Adler's fairytale success began in a small New Jersey farm town where he first tried pottery at summer camp circa 1978. He fell in love with pottery and begged his parents to buy him a wheel and kiln, which he put to good use. Spending his entire adolescence throwing pots, Jonathan's passion for pottery continued into his college years. He "studied" at Brown University, but spent most of his time at the nearby Rhode Island School of Design making pots—even crafting a quilted line of pottery inspired by Chanel. Passion and persistence paid off and n the mid-90s, Jonathan showed his pots to Barney's and got an order. Orders continued to pour in and Jonathan worked hard to fill them, as he does today. He can now boast stores in Soho, Los Angeles, Miami, Chicago, and San Francisco and on Madison Avenue, as well as across the pond in the UK. He's even got a furniture collection, an interior design firm, and a line of bedding, towels, and stationary. There is nothing Jonathan hasn't done...authoring design books and being a lead judge on Bravo TV are on his roster too!
